Men’s and Women’s Small Groups
St. Terese Women’s Groups
Girls night out doesn’t have to be at the movies or the mall. Each semester we form small groups for genuine prayer, Bible study, faith sharing, and fun. One of the best ways to grow closer to God is to experience your faith with other female students who have the same questions, feelings, and journeys. Don’t miss the opportunity to sign up for a group at the beginning of each semester! Look for forms on the table in the lobby.
St. John Men’s Groups
Our chivalrous gents gather in small groups on a regular basis. The mission of our group is to grow spiritually through prayer, fellowship, and service. In the spring we take a weekend retreat to escape campus and refocus our lives. Pay attention to the lobby table, bulletin, and Sunday announcements so you don’t miss this chance.
Intramural Sports
Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or beginning player, Newman has a place for you on our intramural squad. Regular teams include co-ed, men’s, and women’s teams in flag football, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, and softball, just to name a few.
Service Opportunities
Do Good Fridays
One Friday each month during the school year features a special service opportunity. We help organizations such as Catholic Charities of Tulsa, Habitat for Humanity, Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, and the surrounding parishes. Stay tuned to announcments after Mass and check the bulletin for each month's First Friday service trip.
Alternative Winter and Spring Breaks
During academic breaks students offer up their time and energy to serve a particular group of people in need. In 2012, we served folks in Idabel, Oklahoma, and Joplin, Missouri. These trips provide the opportunity to see not only social justice at work but also faith in action.
Dances and Parties
Good Clean Fun, and Proud of It
Newman is known for impromptu fun and games, but we also like to plan a few special events in advance. Our headline parties celebrate the big holidays and provide a safe and sublime outlet for a good time. Every year we have a Halloween Party, Fall Dance, Thanksgiving Feast and Talent Show, Christmas Dinner and Date Auction, Valentine's Day Dinner, Spring Dance, End of the Year Banquet, and Film Festival.
